Registration is now open! Click here to sign up

The 5K road race gives us a chance to connect as a community, raise funds for the foundation’s activity, and remember Mike in a meaningful way (Mike was a 3 season distance runner at Merrimack High School).

The race will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 12pm at the Merrimack High School (38 McElwain St, Merrimack, NH 03054). We have encouraged runners and walkers to be sure to arrive by 11:15am to allow time for check-in and warm-up.  Check-ins are usually held in the MHS Cafeteria.

Every year we are pleased to offer a raffle with great prizes, thanks to our generous donors and sponsors. Tickets are usually $1 each or 8 for $5. Credit cards are accepted but cash is preferred. The raffle is drawn during the race so those attending the event will need to buy their tickets before the race starts.

MLMF 5K Course Map

The course is as fast as any NH 5K race you can find!  It starts on O’Gara Drive and runs toward Merrimack High School, passing in front of the school and boomeranging onto McElwain St. After a 300m diversion on the scenic Hadley Road loop, it continues down McElwain then turning the corner onto Baboosic Lake Road. The course then turns left back onto O’Gara Drive, hitting the mile mark just after the turn and passing by tennis courts and baseball fields as you again approach Merrimack High School.

After a little over a mile, the course once again passes the starting line but loops around behind the school before rejoining the McElwain-Hadley-Baboosic Lake-O’Gara route of the first loop. The course hits the two mile point just before hitting the turn onto Baboosic Lake. The course passes the start line on O’Gara one more time and continues behind the school and onto the track for a quick finish, passing the three mile mark on the final turn before hitting the final straightaway and ending at the numbers.

A flat and beautiful route, this USATF certified course is friendly for PRs and boasts a course record of 15:21.  Many participants have listed it as their favorite 5k and a yearly must-run event.
