The Sixth Annual Michael LoVerme Memorial 5k will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 12pm. As in past years it will be an incredible event for the Foundation and a fitting tribute to Mike. The race is open to all and has both an individual and team component.
The course is as fast as any NH 5K race you can find! It starts on O’Gara Drive and runs toward Merrimack High School, passing in front of the school and boomeranging onto McElwain St. After a 300m diversion on the scenic Hadley Road loop, it continues down McElwain then turning the corner onto Baboosic Lake Road. The course then turns left back onto O’Gara Drive, hitting the mile mark just after the turn and passing by tennis courts and baseball fields as you again approach Merrimack High School.
After a little over a mile, the course once again passes the starting line but loops around behind the school before rejoining the McElwain-Hadley-Baboosic Lake-O’Gara route of the first loop. The course hits the two mile point just before hitting the turn onto Baboosic Lake. The course passes the start line on O’Gara one more time and continues behind the school and onto the track for a quick finish, passing the three mile mark on the final turn before hitting the final straightaway and ending at the numbers.
A flat and beautiful route, this USATF certified course is friendly for PRs and boasts a course record of 16:11. Many participants have listed it as their favorite 5k and a yearly must-run event.
This event is only possible because of the generous support of our 5K race sponsors! If you or your business is interested in donating time, money, or services please email firstname.lastname@example.org. A great charity event, proceeds go to help out in all sorts of ways in the Greater NH area. We always have a lot of fun and expect this year was no exception!
